OK so I've been rubbish with my postings the last couple of months, we had such a busy Summer but now the nights are drawing in and the days are not quite so bright and sunny I'm making an Autumn resolution to get back into a regular routine of posting our menus and recipes.
Weather the last few weeks has been so strange - warmer than the Summer for a few days, then a month's worth of rain in a day and a 20 degree drop in temps. Not sure how to dress or eat at the moment but hey, wouldn't be England without strange weather.
We now seem to be back into a somewhat normal routine, and C is settling in well to Year 2. All starts to get a bit more serious this year with his KS1 SATS at the end of the year - he just seems far to young to be worrying about tests!!
Our menu this week features a last few tastes of Summer along with some "welcome to Autumn" flavours. What foods do you look forward to welcoming back onto your dinner menus at this time of year? For me, it's the autumn fruits - apples, plums etc, stews and casseroles with plenty of yummy leftovers.
Monday: Honey Balsamic Pork (Slow Cooker), Mash, Veg
Tuesday: Turkey, Cheese & Bacon Patties, New Potatoes, Coleslaw
Wednesday: Baked Potato Bar, Salad
Thursday: Summer Pasta
Friday: Lamb Biryani, Flatbreads
Saturday: Sweet & Spicy Grilled Salmon, New Potatoes, Salad
Sunday: Roast Chicken Dinner
Sweets & Treats: Raspberry & Pear Tarts, Chocolate Cornflake Cakes
Happy Cooking & Eating this week xx
